“There wasn’t much left for me to find at Szurdok Ridge after the Covenant clashed against a metric Hell ton of Titanium A that came in the shape of Scorpion MBTs. After wading through the smell of burning flesh and ionized metal amidst crippled giants, casualties of both sides of the fight, my living headcount was still only myself; whoever was left on the UNSC’s painful side of the engagement was dead, and whatever was left crawling around from the smoking ruins of heavy to light Covenant armor quickly received a career ending double-tap.

“Bodark-2, an ODST fireteam, had recon’d this zone before the strike. Little did  they know that the numbers they saw were only a fraction of what to expect. The stepped up to the plate in time to make a difference to the immanent defeat that we would have faced at this part of the frontline. Even still, their efforts made for a stalemate, which wasn’t a better alternative now that I saw the results first hand. 

“They were just a recon team, maybe one heavy weapons specialist to the group. James and I, from Fireteam Zenith–anti-material, anti-armor, and EOD all around– requested a presence here and were denied. It should have been us here, and now here I was trying to make up for it by finding anything worth saving. Or killing. And I am going to take my time doing it.”
